  PART II: “Go Down, Moses” by William Faulkner. The Word Depot

  In this podcast, Begoña, Belén, Mila, Cándido and Marcial, members of the reading club of the EOI of Vigo, coordinated by Ana Sánchez, give an overview of their reading of Faulkner’s novel as well as share their creative writing pieces inspired by it. This podcast has been divided in two parts. The second part of the podcast focuses on the pieces of creative writing composed to better grasp the reading. There is a choral reading of a piece included, the aim is to make the words overlap as if part of a musical ensemble.

  In this podcast, Begoña, Belén, Mila, Cándido and Marcial, members of the reading club of the EOI of Vigo, coordinated by Ana Sánchez, give an overview of their reading of Faulkner’s novel as well as share their creative writing pieces inspired by it. This podcast has been divided in two parts: the first part addresses first impressions on the novel. Special thanks to Helen Burr for her reading of an extract from the first chapter of the novel “Was”.   INVISIBLE INK: GRAHAM GREENE’S “THE HEART OF THE MATTER”

   The Word Depot presents the untold stories of Graham Greene’s “The Heart of the Matter” (1948). Many of the characters around which the narrative evolves never confront each other and never articulate their feelings. The factual account of the events masquerades inner emotions that remain untold. The Word Depot members, Marián Machado, Begoña Varela Rodríguez, Cándido Pintos, Marcial Múñoz, Manuel Gómez Otero and Margarida Pereira have written as well as interpreted in this podcast the stories that have never happened,the ones that Aimee Liu, author and essayist, may describe as written in  “invisible ink”.

  Frankenstein (Part 2)_ The Word Depot

  Next on Frankenstein: Marcial Muñoz, María Angeles Machado and Servando participate with their comments and readings on Mary Shelley’s novel “Frankenstein,” accompanied by piano music,  “Le Lac de Come” by G.Galos,  interpreted by Rosana Ojea  and crowned by Servando’s own music composition while reading a passage from the novel. Some of the insights dealt with evolve around Mary Shelley’s youth when writing the novel, the threading of the plot, thoughts on the human condition of the creature.

  Frankenstein (1)_ The Word Depot

  Mila Prol, Begoña Varela y Cándido Pintos give their impressions on Mary Shelley’s novel Frankenstein (1818): unexpected reactions surge as they elaborate on Frankenstein being a novel about friendship, love, a coalescence of contraries (fire and ice), a story within story narrative that spins from Mary Shelley’s time to our own.
